The Centre for Organisation Research and Education (CORE) condemned the shocking incident of raping a physically handicapped 22 year old girl, daughter of (L) Takhelambam Leibaklot and Takhellambam Pikpi of Itam Nungoi Mayai Leikai under Lamlai police Station, Imphal East District by Takhellambam Tomba (50) of Itam Nungoi Mayai Leikai under Lamlai police Station, Imphal East district.  Also express deep concerned over the abduction of Nandeibam Dhanabir (41) S/O Nandeibam Ibochouba and his wife Nandeibam Ongbi Bina (38) of Kwakeithel Heinou Khongnembi, under Singjamei Police station, Imphal West district at about 3:00 pm on the 21 July, 2009 by unidentified gunmen from his residence.

However, raping a physically handicapped girl should be condemned by one and all which is against humanity. Also appeal for the safe release of the couple on humanitarian grounds.

CORE appeals state government to book those involved and award befitting punishment accordingly to those found guilty.

The Centre for Organization Research and Education (CORE) strongly condemns the Killing of a local woman in front of her child, one youth and five others injured in the shot out at Khwairamband Bazaar, below the Bir Tikendrajit flyover, Imphal at about 10:30 am yesterday. Thokchom Ongbi Raveena (23) W/o Chinglensana of Lamdeng Khunou and Chungkham Sanjiv (25) S/o Chungkham Khelen of Khurai Sajor Leikai were shot death while five others injured were  Wangkheirakpam Gitarani (40) W/o(L) W. Nongyai Singh of Tengdongyang, Ningthoujam Kishorani (43) W/o N. Raghumani Singh of Narankonjin, Golmei Mangol (58) S/o Lemba of Maha Kabui Namching Keithelmanbi, Pangambam Lukhoi Singh (30) S/o P. Pakchao Singh of Heingang Makha Leikai and Kangabam Subhachandra Singh (40) S/o K. Samongou Singh of Kha Potshangbam.

CORE appeals government to arrange adequate compensation to the deceased families, immediate medical relief and other necessary assistance to those injured on humanitarian ground. CORE shares the sorrow and pain of deceased families also wish quick recovery to those injured in the ugly Khwairamband bazaar shot out incident.

The Centre for Organisation Research and Education (CORE) condemn the recent trends of killing & injuring of non-locals civilian by unknown miscreants in Imphal City.

That, unidentified gunmen shot death Amit Shah (35) of Karsar village of Buxar district, Bihar but presently  staying at a rented house at Ragailong Pandon, Imphal and injuring left thigh of a boy Tongbram Tomba (10)  S/o T. Dhananjoy of Sagolband Moirang Hanuba Leirak at about 8:00 am at Sagolband Moirang Hanuba Leirak. Also a non local resident Laldev Poddar (45) S/o Rambabu Poddar was shot at on the 27th July at about 6:30 pm at Sawombung Kabui Village under Lamlai Police Station in Imphal East and is currently struggling for life at the ICU of Shija Hospital in serious condition.

CORE appeal the Government to safeguard the life and security of citizens residing in the state and adequate medical assistance be given to those injured. And appeal every section of society to maintain peace and harmony among different communities living in the state.
